>Jackson: BEJORXY H8 BOX +24 24
#note BOXY is just standard here. So many potential setups that I wanted to go for one - in the back of my mind I was pretty sure BOXY was the play. BOX sims about 6 down. The idea is to set up the J but have BOXY plays with the J if he blocks alongside BO
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AEELOOS G8 ALOE +21 21
>Jackson: DEIJRUY I5 JUDY +25 49
#note RYU is defensive but the J isn't great on this board, JUDY is still fairly defensive, sims a few up.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: EHKORST J6 HOER +40 61
#note A really deceptive position here - HOER looks like it clogs up all my options while keeping the S, which is somewhat true, but it also doesn't wring the most of this rack. OH kills a sim, 5 points above anything else and 9 point above HOER - EKRST bingoes way more (39% vs. 11%), and averages 18 more while giving up only 7 more to the opponent. With the F10 spot available, the advantage of HOER killing so many options on the right is much smaller. While OH might not be accurately played by opp in the sim, I think a lot of plays hooking JO are going to come down for me even if they do open things up, so that's only a small offset. HORK F11 is the second highest simming play, which is awesome for the double setup and full aggro.
>Jackson: AEIINRW 7I ..WIE +10 59
#note missed WIENI(E) here, that is def better. AW(E) is also better just for defense, this time the board would actualy be dead. Much prefer that, DOWIE is terrible.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AGKSSTU 8M SUK +23 84
#note he figured I had a lot of IN in my range, so got sketched about KAGUS for 25.
>Jackson: ACIINNR F10 CAIN +32 91
#note not CAIRN for the S inference
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AEGSSST 10F ...ES +26 110
#note GASTNESS plays here
>Jackson: IIINRRW -IIRW +0 91
#note did not see WIKI and only barely considered WRI(ES) - still exchanging looks better. Could be R, could be INR, the blank is very useful here, but INR also hits the K and U a bit better, and bingo maxing is a good idea on this board. this seems like the call
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ABGGSST E11 STAB +22 132
>Jackson: AIINPRR D13 RAP +15 106
#note did not see PIR(AN)A which is probably worth it given the S in his rack - 15a plays leave me with the 14 row lane and a decent rack, plus the P at B13 could help me reach the top left later. PRAIRIES is also decent just to counter open a new spot. worth noting that I missed RAI here, which is a better version of RAP
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: EGGLNSV C11 VEG +24 156
#note He preferred this over VEGG(ES), I agree
>Jackson: IIINPRR -IINR +0 106
#note this and INR and 6M RIP all sim about even at the top. I liked keeping the P for 15a plays, but there is something to be said for not loving a play like PROP, wanting to threaten somethign more like DRIP or GRIP. I am okay with this cohice though, its more likely I will try and claw my way back through scoring here.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: GILLNST M2 TINGL.. +16 172
#note interesting position. He might want to read into my x4 range a bit here, I probably lean towards keeping better combinations or throwing it all back, though in this case I did keep the middling INR. TINGLES in my opinion takes away a bit of the fortress that has been created, and potentially lets me access the top left more easily. Reaching for blanks is good though, as well as scoring points. L(ES)T is uninspiring, but maybe just (E)LL with case S in hand... neither are foolproof.
>Jackson: FIIMPRW 15A WIM. +33 139
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AAELSTU L1 LUTEA +23 195
>Jackson: AFIPQRU 1H QUAI. +42 181
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AAERSTV N1 VAT +21 216
#note I don't actually mind SVARAJ here so much, trying to outrun bingoes might be the call at this point, since the wall has been broken into. I don't mind VAT here, splitting the differnce a bit and keeping the S, which will be powerful for sure going forward. Quackle likes (A)VA along with these two options, which is really not bad, AERST is potent enough that he will bingo often enough next turn between the marginal lanes.
>Jackson: CDFHOPR O4 FROC. +18 199
#note did not see R(E)C(TI) here, or QOPH. Seems close, I am fine with this and slowplaying, though.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ?ADEORS O4 .....ED +17 233
#note UPSOARED plays for 70, only bingo.
>Jackson: DEEHIPR 14A EH +25 224
#note considered RIPE for turnover, but I know he has S in hand, and likely blank and this point, so it's not super safe. REDIP maybe? EH is a dumb waiting play. RIPE or REDIP are at least proactive in some way.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ??AEORS E11 ....S +19 252
#note incredible, no bingoes here with AEORS??. The board doesn't even look so horribly dead, that's great.
>Jackson: DEIOPRT 2E PODITE +30 254
#note I think this should be DRIPT here. WIMPS is a wild play to spend the case S, so it takes a wild rack to have. Realistically I'm not seeing him playing it without ?? at this point. I thought just one blank was maybe possible, and he wanted to slowplay and keep things tight - in that case, PODITE at least reaches for the other blank, and gets the board going a bit more for me to try and land the next bingo. PODITE gives up a lot more binoges than DRIPT. The problem is that DRIPT still does a good job when I put josh on a one blank range, because I still want to stop him from landing the immediate bingo, and just one extra tile of turnover is not such a huge deal. Keeping the R over EO was nice given the pool, trying to bingo first myself, but the difference in bingo % on his side is much larger. If he has ?? it's not like I am winning very often, but at least DRIPT can enact that plan a bit better, going for the Z and keeping the board on lockdown. I stlil have to assume that he somehow just had one blank wiht WIMPS, and probably go for DRIPT.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ??AEMOR 3B RAdOMEs +89 341
#note WOMERAS for the 2 point sacrifice could be worth it. SEROMAS and RADOMES are the only two 89 pointers.
>Jackson: ILNNORZ N10 IRON +11 265
#note not seeing many options here, i'm obv looking at serious longshots here. IRON at least does have a couple ways it could win - I can threaten stuff like LOZENGE/IRONE or FROZENLY B2, have him block the wrong one and hit the other. Sounds like less than 1% to me but still something.
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: AGIINOY O12 YOGI +47 388
>Jackson: EEFLNNZ 2A FEZ +45 310
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ADINRT G13 DIN +15 403
>Jackson: ELNN H14 NE +14 324
>Josh_Sokol-Rubenstein: ART M10 RAT +15 418
#note interesting and weird game. starting from BOX this game was going to be a bit of an exploration of different concepts, though I was trying to win all the way throughout. Lots to improve on in this game.
