>Jackson_Smylie: BEGINOO H4 BOOING +24 24
#note This game was a turning point for me in this tournament. And not in a good way. I played poorly this game. This game and the Ricky Sirois game I played noticeably below my normal playing level.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AADEOYZ 6H .OZY +36 36
#note 6F ZOOEY for 45. OOZY is 4th behind ZOOEY and the DOOZY plays which I saw but wanted to keep a consonant.
>Jackson_Smylie: EIIILSU - +0 24
#note exchange IIU.
>Jonathan_Lindh: AADEJRW K4 JA. +26 62
#note I straight up whiffed on G3 JAW for 30, only seeing JAY and G6 WAE for 32. WAE actually sims a tiny but better than JAY. WAE is #4 and JAY #5 according to Quackle. I didn't like how WAE kept the clunky J and opened an easy 7's lane for Jackson after an exchange 3, so I am fine with JAY over WAE, but not JAY over JAW.
>Jackson_Smylie: EEHILRS 9D SLEI.HER +67 91
#note WAE would have blocked SLEIGHER though. It seemed like a lot of things I did on day 2 backfired horribly in my face including JAY.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADEEGRW 4K .AWED +36 98
#note Huge miss of D2 RAGWEEDS for 80. Only saw WAGERED which did not play. JAWED is not even the best non-bingo play as I10 EW for 31 seems better to keep a great leave with a floating S open.
>Jackson_Smylie: CDEILSW 6G W.... +20 111
#note Big mistake here, SWILLED is very much worth it, winning a sim by around 10 points. It's true the S is not super potent here, so SWILLED is better than WIDDLE or WILDED or DEW, which were my other considerations. WOOZY just doesn't bingo enough - I thought I was hitting with the E when I am not, which is part of why CDEILS is worse than I thought here. The average scores in the sim just don't support CDEILS being nearly good enough here.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABEGORU 8J AERUGO +28 126
#note Quackle prefers BORAGE in the same spot keeping the U, which I did not see, but after an exchange 1, I prefer to float an U rather than an A in partial space.
>Jackson_Smylie: CDEGILS O1 GLI.ED +27 138
>Jonathan_Lindh: ABHNRRU 8A HABU +33 159
#note 4B RHUBARB for 28 to clean up more of this rack. HABU is about #4. I have not gotten a single turn right this game.
>Jackson_Smylie: ACCEKSV M7 C.CK +18 156
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DFNNRR - +0 159
#note I held CUCK for a very long time and then unsuccessfully challenged. I even could tell from Jackson's body language he thought it was good but like challenging DISJOINTS, I ignored the signs and challenged anyways. CUCK was not good the last time I checked, which was 2023 or earlier but it became good in the most recent update.
>Jackson_Smylie: AEOSSUV 11I UVEAS +29 185
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DFNNRR F8 F.RN +9 168
#note Best. Finally got a play right.
>Jackson_Smylie: AIMNOSX N2 AX. +33 218
#note I did not realize this at the time, but FERN blocked a 52 point X bomb AX at E10.
JS: seems fine, AXIOM is reasonable too.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?DNRRST L3 R.D +7 175
#note I think I thought of STRANDER in my mind, but dismissed it as phony. B5 STRANDER is 64.
>Jackson_Smylie: EILMNOS A1 LEMONIS. +92 310
#note Best. STRANDER blocks LEMONISH, but Jackson had O8 OINOMELS for 89 and 3 other playable bingos, so I was toast here no matter what.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ENRRST 2A .RN +6 181
#note B8 ANTRORSE and ENTERERS in 2 spots. This was one of my worst games in the last few years.
>Jackson_Smylie: AEENOTT C2 .ONET +10 320
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEORST 12B AEROSaT +72 253
#note Best. Finally another correct play. I loved how AEROSAT opened the board and gave me a shot to win despite my horrible play so far.
>Jackson_Smylie: AEIPTUY D3 YETI +27 347
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADLMOPQ I4 AP.D +22 275
#note I3 POMO for 19 to set up a good Q spot with a bunch of I's remaining. Quackle does not intially find APOD, but it does surprisingly well in a sim so it's not the disaster I thought it was at first. It jumps into the top 5 when added to the sim. 13G MOP for 21 is another worthwhile option.
>Jackson_Smylie: AEIPTTU E4 TAP +24 371
#note considered PIT 13A as well. Not too worried here...
>Jonathan_Lindh: IILMOQT 13A QI +13 288
#note Best. Jackson's body language after TAP suggested the blank was still in the bag, and it was! QI was forced. Have to hope I draw the blank and am able to bingo out.
>Jackson_Smylie: EFIITUV H12 .UFT +21 392
#note The blank was still in the bag! However, it turned out I had my score as being 10 points too high (298 instead of 288). Jackson score checked and we corrected my score. The loss of those 10 points greatly decreased my win chances. When Jackson played TUFT, I was pretty sure it would outrun all worst case scenarios for him (and it did).
JS: QI was a nice play, put me in a tough position to outrun everything. TUFT seemed to do the job to handle all the worst case scenarios - Quackle names this, FETI(AL), and FIVE 10A as the 100% wins.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ILMNOT 2F MOLTINg +70 358
#note I saw MOONLIT but somehow missed it played in the same spot as MOLTING. MOONLIT would have been 71. However, the bigger miss was 13G MULTITON for 82. That would have been a 392-386 loss for me. Did I mention I was low on time?
>Jonathan_Lindh: (EEIIV) +16 374
#note Easily one of my worst played game over the past few years. I definitely should have won this game.
